THE RISE SIXTH FORM OPENING SEPTEMBER 2019
At The Rise Sixth Form we aim to build aspirations, to inspire and to motivate pupils so that they have the opportunity to make the best choices in life. Our aim is to support all of our pupils and help them reach their full potential.
Our specialist autistic trained staff will work tirelessly to ensure that pupils have the support they need to be successful in their chosen courses. All pupils in The Rise Sixth Form will have a personalised timetable and will follow an individual learning programme designed to fulfil the aims and ambitions of pupils. Also the Sixth Form pupils will learn alongside staff and peers and will be encouraged to develop their individuality and achieve your potential.
When pupils are not in lessons located at the West Thames College they will be supported in the Sixth Form Centre. Staff will be on hand to help pupils prepare for lessons, support with coursework assignments, help pupils review their learning and prepare for exams. Pupils will be supported with time management, revision skills, essay writing and exam access and arrangements.
Partnership with West Thames College
The Rise Sixth Form is working in partnership with West Thames College to allow us to offer The Rise Sixth Formers the best of both worlds. Being located at West Thames College enables our pupils to access the full range of courses at a large further education college.
However, The Rise will have its own bespoke and separate facilities at the West Thames College, staffed by our highly skilled and specialist team. This will allow us to provide a structured, autism-friendly environment that replicates the high quality facilities on offer at The Rise. Facilities include:
- Additional classrooms to deliver our additional curriculum
- A supervised study hub
- A common room
- Gym equipment
- Quiet rooms
